w.w.1 battlefields

fantatic tour a real eye opener now we can really understand what the soldiers went through. phillipe was so informative and told us things we have never seen in any text books. he also has a great sence of humour. the weather was so apt for this tour raining and cold in places we tried to keep a check on our emotions but did not always succeed. a full day but phillipe never once rushed us and gave us time to take it all in.my husband was 70 on the day and everyone sang happy birthday there was ozzies C***dians American irish british and phillipe an international choir it made his day we hope to be back in September and will go on this tour again as I am sure we did not take everything in so thank. you phillipe and Sharon for a great tour..

Mr

We recently took the one day tour arranged through our hotel the Grand Hotel C***bergh via Quasimodo Tours. We were in a small group of 8 travelling around in the mini van with Sharon as our guide. Sharon was extremely knowledgeable about her subject matter and provided a well balanced review on what was a very sombering day seeing visually the battlefield sites and war graves. It was *** to understand how WW1 started and how it escalated into mass casualties and death and centred around two pieces of land no more than 11 miles apart. A very informative and enjoyable(if that is the right word) experience and one that will live long in the memory. I would recommend Quasimodo Tours as a great way to see all the sites and Sharon as a very informative guide. Stuart & Barbara Andrews UK

Mr

Thank you very much for the tour. Although it was an extremely moving day, we are very glad that we went on the tour, and especially glad that we chose yourselves to guide us. Your p***on and wealth of knowledge greatly improved the experience. We would not hesitate to recommend Quasimodo tours to any of our friends.

Excellent tour

I wouldn't usually take time to write a note but on this occasion I really wanted to express our thanks for such an informative, interesting and moving day. Phillippe was an excellent guide and the order of the stops around the small area between Ypres and Paschendale helps to make some sense of what was such a horrendous and protracted conflict in such a small area. We learned a lot and it was thought provoking and emotional without being sensationalised or maudlin, the sites and cemeteries tell it all. Thank you again for an excellent day.

Outstanding Experience

Thank you Philippe & Sharon for an *** tour. We were in Belgium for a short stay in Brussels but decided to make the hour long train journey and take this tour from Brugge, having read good reports. Well we are so glad we did. Philippe has a wealth of information regarding the war and he related this in such a way we were totally captivated. There are two must do's when you visit Belgium, one is to take a Flanders tour and the other is to take it with Philippe & Sharon. Well done guys and thanks once again. Richard & Julie

February

Thank you for a wonderful day in the Flanders Fields Phillipe was a wonderful guide and made the day truly memorable. Many thanks

Mrs

Thank you so much for a fabulous day! The tour was ***, filled with all the important information about WW1. In addition to this we were collected from our hotel, special arrangements were made for us to visit a relatives grave, picked up from last post ceremony and dropped off back at our hotel! Wow!

A Day to Reflect

The trip to Ypres was a highlight of our trip to Belgium. Philippe was a truly *** and informative guide and we were spellbound as we listened to him talk about the history of World War 1. Even though it is a sombre and thought provoking tour, Philippe had a wonderful and natural manner and his stories were interesting. Quasimodo Tours had been recommended to us and did not disappoint. In fact, we have had the pleasure and confidence to recommend this trip to our friends. We would highly recommend staying for the Last Post....a moving and memorable tribute. Thanks again Philippe.

Flanders Tour in October

Thanks for a wonderful day and great restaurant advice at la passage. Enjoy your holidays. We are off to Barbados.

Poem written on the tour

In these fields these battlefields littered with dead men  You see that image in your head again and again In Flanders Fields thousands of men suffering their fate The most we can do is remember and commemorate  Their body's lying on the ground their souls go to the the sky In Flanders Fields listening you hear the anguished cry In the trenches and no mans land you see the poppies grow The birds making their own commemoration crow In Flanders Fields where brave men fought and brave men died so proud In Flanders Fields where once a time there where guns blazing loud -------------------------- Ranen, age 10 wrote this poem on the Flanders Fields tour in October 2014.
