Hill 60

We visit the only preserved war landscape around Ypres. The strategic position of Hill 60 was of great importance and was the target in a series of intense battles. These culminated in the blowing up of the hill by carefully prepared mines. The 1st Australian Tunnelling Company detonated the huge explosive charge under Hill 60 and the massive crater can still be seen today.
