Explore restored trenches, walk among the eerily silent war graves at Passendale and Polygon Wood, climb over craters and bunkers on the preserved Hill 60 battlefield, and pay homage to the monuments that proudly commemorate the sacrifices of British troops (including Anzac and Canadian). Also discover the contemporary effects – the “iron harvest” from the poppy–strewn fields.

We visit the beautiful city of Ypres (also called Wipers)  which was rebuilt according to medieval plans after its total destruction in World War I. It is also home to the imposing Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing, which bears the names of nearly 55,000 men who fell in the Ypres Salient and whose graves are unknown. Built on the spot where soldiers left the city for the front, this is a truly moving experience.
